Ahmed’s Story: A Father’s Fight for His Daughter

Malak was born during the war in Gaza — into a world already marked by unimaginable grief.

Before her birth, her father, Ahmed, had lost his entire extended family to airstrikes. When Malak arrived, she brought light back into his life. For a short while, he had her — and her mother — and together they clung to what little hope remained.

But that hope was short-lived. A little while after Malak was born, her mother was also martyred in an airstrike.

Now, it is just Ahmed and Malak, the only survivors of their family, trying to stay alive in a place where even food and water are nearly impossible to find.

From Stability to Starvation

Before the war, Ahmed lived a good, stable life. He had a home, a career, and dreams for his family’s future. Now, his days are consumed by one mission: keeping Malak alive.

Despite his personal losses, Ahmed has not only cared for his daughter — he has also:

  • Shared Gaza’s reality with the outside world
  • Helped others in his community where he could
  • Raised funds for families in desperate need

But the world’s attention has moved on. Donations have slowed. And Ahmed is now struggling to secure even the most basic necessities for his child.

9 Days Without Milk

As resources ran out and support dwindled, Ahmed could no longer afford baby formula for Malak. With nothing left, she was given only water for 9 days.

Eventually, her body could take no more. Malak was rushed to hospital and placed under strict medical care for severe malnutrition.

The only thing she can safely consume now is follow-on baby formula. It’s not ideal — but it’s the only nutrition her fragile body can handle. Each tin costs $75 and lasts just 3 days.

Contacting Ahmed

Despite everything, Ahmed is still reaching out — still hoping someone will care enough to help.

Why This Matters

Ahmed has lost almost everything — except Malak. And now, she’s at risk too.

Every donation, share, or kind message can help keep her alive. This isn’t an organisation or a large campaign — it’s just one father, one child, and one more chance at survival.
